I've been fishing the north end of Lake Washington for 20 years, and now that I have access to a boat, I need advice.

I've concentrated my efforts on the eastern shore areas from Kirkland north to Kenmore. Pan fishing has always been great, but my sights are set on catching TROUT. Rainbow trout or Cutthroat trout, it doesn't matter.

Where are the hot spots in the north-end of Lake Washington? What do they bite on? How do you catch the lunkers? Do any public docks produce trout?

Any advice is appreciated!

Arrowhead Point is always a good bet. Downriggers with Needlefish in brass/red, nickel/red or clown, Coyote spoons in greenglow, army truck, or other fluorescent coatings work well. Should really turn on in mid July and run through November. This time of year I would start about 40 feet down in 60-70 feet of water. By August, think 60 over 90.

The floating bridges can also be a good bet.

Thanks Jim.

I'm launching out of Kenmore on Sunday with some buddies; we'll definately keep a close eye on the fish finder at those depths.

This morning a friend and I fished for a couple hours at Waverly Beach in Kirkland with nightcrawlers and powerbait. Between the two of us, we caught one 2 inch sucker. It sure was nice to see the sun finally come out and warm things up a bit.

How's the bass fishing beyond the mouth of the Slough?

Couldn't say. Seldom see anyone fishing the northend for bass. I often see bass boats working Hunts Pt. or the east channel under the I-90 bridge.

Out of Kenmore, I always did good going south starting once your past the seaplane area by staying off the east shore just before Arrowhead to a little past Denny Pk. Lots of good fishing south of the floating bridge too. I had a little boat without electronics, no riggers. Leaded line and neddlefish worked fine. 40 to 60 feet in the winter for nice cutts. Hope you've got electronics and dr's. You can target them easier. Black spinner reportedly works even better this time of year.

The lake seems to be turning on (finally!) for trout. I picked up three fish this morning off Hunts Point using a green/glow coyote spoon at fifty feet (scratching bottom).
