Hit Deep Lake today near Enumclaw with my friend Kyle today after school from 3:30pm to 8:00pm. We took his small livingston out. I trolled a 4" sling blade dodger with 50" of 6lb leader and a size 1 dick nite in pink and white. Off a light downrigger at 35 ft. I caught 7 kokes, 5 rainbows and 3 cutts. I kept 4 kokes from 11-13 inches and a 17 inch cutt for my limit. Kyle caught 1 cutt and 13 planted rainbows. He kept the 15 inch cutt and 2 rainbows at 11". He used a black & olive wolley bugger trolled off fast sinking line. I also lost a lot of fish while trying to get my line off the rigger' clip. Probably small ones since they didn't pop it them selves. My target was kokanee but caught more rainbows than I expected for my technique. I am headed back tomarrow after school with Kyle again but we will probably bank fish for cutts and bows.

I've been knocking them dead at deep lake, takes about 2 hour's. Those are land lock silver's in there and pretty darn good eatin' too! and they are listed on the board as silvers also. kokes usually stay at a certian level and don't like to move up or down at all, even 2 ft above them won't make them move to take it most of the time. but I'm hitting these at all kinds of different levels.

I've had to troll from 1 1/2 to better than 3 mile an hour at times to get them. Sunday I tried a trolling motor for the first time on my cataraft, worked great.

I've been hitting lots of fish along the north(?) side of the lake in 40/70+ feet of water (i'm not getting that deep i'm sure) with lot's of fish hanging at 5ft from the bottom using 4 split shot worth of lead, a snubber and a double red wedding ring with a large and then small blade and a eagle claw type hook in place of the original hook (it sucks for holding power, even for a 1/2 a crawler) and 40/60 feet of line out and it is working great for me.

I have been having a great time out there and a limit every time.

Notice the avatar? That was taken sunday as I was starting to heading out along the bank behind me. Got lucky and the wife decided to take 2 of the dogs for a walk so got a new Picture of the boat.

Maybe I'll see you out there some time, mite have already and didn't know it. fishy

Well the state did dump kokanee smolt(landlocked sockeye) in there 15 years ago and I heard that is were the landlocked salmon in the lake came from. Maybe a mix of both? Anyway they are very, very good eating.

hey guys,

I used to fish this lake almost every day.

The "land locked salmon" are indeed the kokes planted about 15 years ago, aka silver trout. Like Curtis H said, they are some of the finest tasting fish around. Once the bite is on, man is it on. I used to go to the lake and be out of the lake within two hours with my limit.

Anyone fly fishing this lake? I'm trying to take up fly swinging. Want to hook up sometime?
