I am in Kitsap county and I fish regularly with a buddy of mine. We are both just recently stationed here and have been enjoying the fishing but don't know a whole lot either. We just first caught our first Bass last week.

Well I am buying a 18' Glasspar with a 70 horse Evinrude they are both old but work. I don't know anything really about boating (although I've been halfway around the world on one?). I also don't know anything about fishing the sound or Salmon and Cod. I was hoping someone could give me some advice or maybe someone would want to tag along and tell us how to not come home as empty handed as we have so many days out Bass fishing.

So if you don't mind hanging out with a couple of Marines then let me know or at least throw me a couple hints if you don't have time! Thanks in advance for any replies!!

Thanks for all the help, I am learning already. This PSA thing sounds pretty neat I will hopefully have time to go. Work is often and I have two kids in diapers so getting out lately has been hard. I just bought a 16'glasspar with 70 hrs evinrude so I am fixing it up and will be ready to hit water next week. Thanks for the help.

Hi Sapper, good to hear your getting out soon. Here's the web site for PSA. http://www.pugetsoundanglers.org/ I'm a member of the Gig Harbor chapter. Great bunch of guys that just like to fish and share info. If you get a chance talk to the guys at the Port Orchard tackle store down by the water front in town. There's a lot of Salmon fishing close to them. In the next couple of weeks Salmon fishing will be really heating up. They will be getting them everywhere. Fish around the tide change and at daylight or near dusk. The Salmon are moving so keep looking for where people are catching them. Good luck. beer
