I wanted to make a post to let you know I'm lurking around if you need anything related to Inland Fish (trout, warmwater and grass carp) issues in southwest Washington (Clark, Cowlitz, Klickitat, Lewis, Skamania and Wahkiakum counties).

I have a lot of resources such as reports on different areas here in my area and send out info packets to anyone who'd like one that talks about fishing opportunities in our area.

If you do have questions on salmon/steelhead/sturgeon or anything else I'd be more than happy to assist in getting you that information as well, but my focus is Inland Fish.

You can contact me at kelsyslk@dfw.wa.gov or at 360-906-6706. I'm located in the Region 5 headquarters in Vancouver Washington.

Hi,

I am wondering why the state lets Swofford Pond get so out of hand with aquatic plants? The "pond" is almost unfishable from shore and not much better even with a boat. Why aren't grass carp stocked there?

Thanks,
Dave

uhh, maybe you should try contacting her via the contact information she provided.

I would much rather see our public employees out in the field insted of monitoring some message board for impatient posters.

In my opinion, Stacie is the most responsive person at WDFW. I wish she was assigned to region 4! Be patient and she will get back to you

Sorry for the late reply. I monitor this board as much as I can but have been busy. I did get an email that was titled Swofford Pond but it was empty so I have no idea what the sender wanted.

The State has nothing to with how Swofford Pond looks. Tacoma Public Utilities is the contact there. I've been trying to work on getting grass carp there for a couple of years.

The best thing to do is contact them and ask what their plans for controlling the invasive weeds are.

Awesome, I will get in touch with them....Hopefully others will too. That "pond" would be a great fishing place with less weeds!!! Thanks

Despite the fact they are notoriously hard to catch by any means... that would be an illegal thing to do.
