I have a question regarding motor regs. I understanding about not putting a motor boat into a lake with no combustion engines allowed. Is it OK if a lake has a HP restriction to put in a boat with a larger motor so long as you don't use the motor? Thanks!

Good question Mike. Honestly, I don't know for sure. You may want to try contacting the municipality in which the lake is located. I think a horsepower restriction on a lake would come from a city ordinance rather than a WDFW regulation. Sometimes city ordinance's for a body of water are different than WDFW regs.

I figured I was OK as long as I just used the trolling motor. Of course, the next boat that launched fired up his big motor and putt putted around...

BTW, how's your new boat working out? I'll bet you've just about covered the flooring with fish blood by now. laugh

Are you going to hit Hanford this year?

The new boat is working out great. I have had some cooling system problems with the motor but Tres Rios got me squared away. I haven't had much time to fish this season and the trips I have made have been unsuccessful. frown We just moved last weekend so I will be spending most of this holiday weekend getting settled in. It is to early for me to tell if I will be making a Hanford run this year. I got lots of stuff to do with the new house and all.

BTW, nice bass in your avatar!

Caught the bass on Long lake with bass legend Bob Johansen. He is quite the angler and a wealth of knowledge and information. As well as an excellent fishing buddy. Got me interested enough that I converted my Klamath boat and added front and rear pedestal seats, plus a 40 lb thrust electirc motor on the front. I can fish just like a real bass boat now. laugh

I sure know about time restrictions. Baseball just ended and I hope to find more time for fishing, maybe once a week - is that asking too much??

If you decide to hit Hanford let me know, perhaps we can hook up.
