I've got a Rainshadow 1265, suitable for kings, built myself.

I looked the 1265 up online and it might be a little to heavy. maybe somthing more like a lamiglas x96j.

My father in law has a Loomis float rod that he is thinking of getting rid of. It's probably longer and lighter than what you are looking for but I can get the specs if you think you might be interested. I know it's only been used a handful of times.

That Lamiglas X96 JC is the standard steelhead float rod around here. I would rate it a medium power, it will handle steel & all the smaller salmon like coho, sockeye & pinks.

For chum & kings in bigger water you might get your a$$ handed to you, I'd go w/ a 1265 class rod for the big stuff.

dont do much float fishing, just tired of not having a extra rod when i do. pretty much drift fish, but there are those rare times when i like to toss the float around. somthing for summer and winter steelhead.

IMHO 10 1/2 foot would do better.

Never heard of it.

Seriously I am a bit baised. That rod is excellent for big natives, chums and chinook. IMHO its a bit heavy for anything else.
