I've yet to see a Fish Lake fishing report in the past few months, so does anyone know if the lake is ice free or if you can access the logging road on the north side of the lake?

I drove by that area last week on US 2 and there was some snow patches still at Coles Corner. I'm thinking I might head over that way mid week and fish/camp for the opener. Last year I caught a mess of nice fish with not too big a crowd. Thanks for any info.

I decided to call the Cove Resort and the gal told me the ice went off the lake last week and they are catching lots of fish. Of course all resort owners say that. Still some snow in patches, but the resort is open for business. Be nice if they updated their website. I still don't know if I can camp on the N side of the lake, but heading that way tomorrow, so I'll let you know.

I see 3 new reports for Fish Lake, so looks like the fish are biting. Hope I can access the FS road on the north side of the lake.

If Nadine at the Cove told you they're catching fish, they are. She and Scott won't BS you. I've called Scott and had him tell me not to bother coming up a few times because the fishing sucked.

I guess my point is Scott and Nadine are really great people and won't steer you wrong.

Ice went off lake April 12th. Fishing Saturday April 29th was fair. We trolled wedding rings Tipped with worm for 5 hours. Caught our limits as wind was coming up. All fish were plants, 9 to 11 inches. Fishing on Dock looked about average. Scott and Diane are great people and they won't steer you wrong. They have always had great advice.

Thanks for the update on the fishing. Yes, I think it was Diane that I spoke to and she was very informative and willing to give me any info. I asked about. I tried to access the FS road on the north side and it's still snowed in. I was able to drive about 1 mile in and hit 2 ft. patches near the top camping area. I could see where a 4x4 truck sank in deep and had trouble. That was last Tuesday, so the recent warm weather may have melted out most of the snow. The snow patches were rock hard ice and I was able to drive my car on top. Once I reached the solid deep snow I didn't want to push my luck. Road is very soft in spots. I drove by there last night on the way home with the wind blowing about 40 mph with snow coming down on the pass, so winter isn't done quite yet.
