Tapps has the water if you've got the time. Sorry about the pun I couldn't resist.
If you were going to target the crappy where would you start?
Large Mouth?
I can find the smallies and tigers if anyone is interested I will tell you all I know. [Should only take a few seconds]

Hey Bill I've been interested in trying lake tapps. If you could send me a little info via my email I would greatly appreciate it. You can reach me at fishinforsteel@comcast.net.

Thanks a lot!

I was wondering where some of the better musky areas are, and what to target them with? Also, are the bass biting yet?

Lets start with Musky water. 90% of the muskies I catch are on the North and East shoreline of Tapps Island. There is a new house going up about the middle of the north side. Fish that cove hard. Now work your way around the point where the brick house with Lions is. Work south to the float plane dock. Skip down to the brige and work the east side back around to the log boom, go inside and fish the first 4 houses.
Now go under the bride, work the east side for 4 docks. If your arm has not fallen off go back under the bridge, look northeast and you will see a log sticking out of the water 40 feet from shore, work it from all angles.
This is a start and you will see what the bottom looks like so you can move around the rest of the lake matching the habitat.
Baits: My arm is stove up so I don't throw a lot of big heavy things commonly used for musky, most of my stuff is for bass.
I have caught a lot on the 1/4 oz. spinner baits, the $1.00 ones from Wal-mart. Lipless chrome baits. Even as small as Road Runners.
Most of my fish are caught between 10am to 2pm This is a starting place. I hope to see you out there. Just look for the red Lund with a dude that looks like Santa.

Thanks for the info! Have you caught any bass yet this year or is it too early still?

No on the catching. My work has been really bad about taking up the time I should be fishing.
I have only had a few hours of boat time so far this year.
I did e-mail you, did you get it?
I am working again this weekend so no chance to get out.
I plan to be out on Tapps May 13

Fish On, this is Sunday and the male smallies are moving up into shallower water [less than 15 feet] females are slower to come shallow.
The wife boated a 38" Tiger today on a 1/4 oz lipless crank bait [Fire Tiger color]
All our action was north and east sides of Tapps Island.
Water is 55 to 60 deg.
Visibility is 7 plus feet.
Hope this helps
Bill
