Just wondering if any of you have been to Alder recently. I am looking for info on the size of kokanee and how the bit is. I have never had my boat out there and was thinking of trying out my new kokanee stick there this weekend. Any input would be usefull.

Um...Its not very deep at all, the water is muddy, and it's chock full of stumps & snags & old RR trestles.

Oh, and it takes an hour and a half to get there, longer if you get stuck behind some out-o-state tourist dope in an RV doing 25 in the no passing zone with his yappy dog on his lap on his way up to park his RV at the base of Rainier for a week, not step outside, and then tell people he's been there.

Sorry started ranting...

Well, i can get there in about half that time. The closest kokanee lake by me is clear, and the fish there are 10"-11". I would like to get some bigger fish, I was told by a man who works for the olympian that alder has been producing 12" kokes.

Been fishing the L. Nisqually arm of Alder. Little fish and lots of effort. Try Merwin.

I have hit Riffe twice this year with very poor luck. Now with the warmer weather I would imagine fishing would be tough at best.
