What are the reputable online ammo dealers? Deals seem easy to come by but on hand stock isnt. I have found up to $50 difference in what I want to order but I'm not sure if some of these places are legit. Anybody use surplusammo.com? Found decent deal at Natchez shooters supply but shipping is always high through them.

Anybody ever try tulammo? Never seen it before.

Tula is inexpensive ammo. Works fine in everything I've shot it out of. I think Tula and Wolf ammo are essentially the same. Not certain.

Widener's.com, Midwayusa.com are good, plus the folks from SA&A, Suplus Ammo & Arms (located in Lakewood, WA) have their website surplusammo.com. SAA&A is a great company, and I buy there once in a while.

"Don't bring Tula to a gunfight" is how the saying goes.

For the musket, I like Lake City XM193.
Palmetto State Armory
Glen's Army Navy...out (good service/price when stocked)
AIM Surplus..........out (good service/price when stocked)

SAA is very good. I like to catch them at the fun show across the river.

Why? It seems nobody really has a high opinion for any of the inexpensive steel cased ammo. But if your going to choose one which is the best? I've shot many and they all work but I'm looking for good shelf life, non-corrosive, and the best accuracy that can be expected for this grade of ammo. I would really like brass cased but all I can find for good price is older manufacture yugo/euro stuff that is corrosive. 7.62 x 39

I don't use it but it's been reported many times that of the ComBloc ammo Tula is generally the lowest quality.
Wolf steel case from the Barnaul factory is considered the better stuff.
A lot of this ammo is reboxed so you have to keep an eye on what it really is.
Wolf Grendel (brass) is by Prvi for example.

Underpowered and dirty are the common complaints with the cheap steel cased ammo.
If your AR is tuned for Lake City it may not cycle with Tula until you tune it.

That's a lot of useful information, but doesn't answer my question: Should *I* use Wolf in *MY* rifle?

The answer to this one is: Maybe. Sorry, but that's the way it is. You have to try it out in YOUR rifle to know for sure. Keep in mind that Wolf ammo made by Tula is of the lowest quality of this type of ammo, and Barnaul tends to be better. It is my subjective opinion that your rifle should be able to handle this type of ammo.

That being said, I have not heard of ComBloc ammo causing actual damage to a rifle, such as the dreaded "Kaboom". It may be underpowered, cause stuck cases, etc., but you shouldn't have to worry about your rifle getting blown up.

Here's some Wolf....cheaper than Tula

You'll have to plug Wolf into the filter

Cheaper than dirt "may" have a good price or coupon code once in a while, but they have been know not to honor a back-ordered price on volume purchases.

For onesy-twosie purchases, I've done okay.

Prefer Widener's, MidwayUSA, SA&A (but I just pick that up in person if I need something). For blasting ammo I just reload. SHTF, I reload. For self defense handgun, I buy premium. For precision rifle, I hand load.

I did not get it online but I tried some of the Herters that Cabelas sells. Not impressed! Accuracy was OK but the worst thing was that I got at least one missfire for every 10 rounds. I put the missfires back in for a second smacking and they all fired. Seems if you were toget 100% performance from these rounds; your rifle would have to damn near push the firing pin inside the flash hole.

Now I have not used TargetSports yet but you might try the link a couple of posts back and plug Wolf into the filter.
The per box price is $4.49 and free shipping by the case.

22.5 cents per round.....not bad for store-bought.

Gotcha beat @ 22.4 cents free shipping vs. .23 + shipping

Same stuff...Wolf Classic

Link is back a couple posts....TargetSports

Another engine is :
http://ammoseek.com/?gun=rifle&cal=113

The kicker is shipping....many deals suck if shipping is not reduced or free.
