Any of you folks camped along the Naches. My fam is looking to meet some Portland friends and we are looking to camp on the "drier" side along the Naches. Looks like a great area for hikes, wildlife, a lil fishing-in the river?. We will have many kiddo's.--August timeframe

I have been on hwy 410 -but not with wife and son -looking forward to that

Chinook Scenic Byway

Thanks for any info

We've camped between Chinook Pass and Naches probably 100 times or more. Its my families favorite spot to camp.

There are numerous campgrounds along 410 for tent camping or dry camping with a trailer.

The road to Bumping Lake has numerous campgrounds as well.

Squaw Rock has water/power/sewer for trailers. I think Whistlin' Jacks does as well.

Best to head up the little Nachez and just find a spot along the river. Spots are endless all the way up with great roads on each side of the river to chech out. Bring your ATV's and a fly rod.

we used to camp up there, my brother still does... some cool areas around the American river, Bumping river, and Bumping lake is around there too if i remember right... we used to go to the Jeep Jamborees up there, i think it was in June or July tho, you will see some cool rigs around, doing some extremely crazy stuff... also, that place is PACKED with elk if you camp in the right spot, you will have herds near you every morning, and they will pop up during the day as well... some alright trout fishing is around... but be CAREFULL on quads and ATVs, if you are caught driving on the main road, the Rangers can, and will mess/ticket you... they also have trails that are ATV only, and Motorcycle only, and you can and will get ticketed if you are caught on them as well...

most of all, have fun, its a georgous place to camp...
