I'm not aware of any rule that says you can't have a scope if you want one, I just cant think of a reason why you would want one. The range is short, the bird is big and at any reasonable range for a shot the pattern of the pellets is more than adequate to compensate for a reasonable hold that isn't perfect. I sure don't mean to sound as if you shouldn't have one if you want one. What ever you like is what you should do. But if you have an extra minute could you tell us why you would want one. Is it some type of vision problem?

If I was to choose a scope I would go for one of those red-dot versions of low power, maybe a 1.5x to 3x max. Some of those turkey tubes are capable of slinging a really tight pattern, so a scope would be an asset. Gonna hunt them for the first time this year. Too cheap to buy a scope, so I'll just be using my 835 or my 10 with lots of hevi shot.

alot of guys back east use scopes on their shotguns to provide percice shot placement. turkeys heads are pretty small and with very tight turkey chokes it is easy to miss a killing head shot. probally want to use one designed for a shotgun cause of the recoil

Well, I got a rifled slug barrel for deer hunting. I want to put a red dot scope on it for deer hunting. What scope would you think to get?

I am with Dogfish, a red dot would make a nice option.
