What are your thoughts on the new playoff system announced yesterday?

I don't think it is a perfect solution, but a step in the right direction.
I can see the format changing over time. Lots of details still to be worked out.
Anything is better then the current BCS format in my opinion.

Still looks to favor BCS. From what I gather there is a "voting for the four best" which can be swayed. Agree step towards the better.

Amazing that we can't get to where it needs to be which is a true bracket format and no voting. Pac-12 champ plays the Big-10 champ. Winner moves on, etc. 12 conferences means six games with meaning, then three, then I suppose either draw for a bye or have a formula for one lucky loser to have a second chance. Semi's and then the championship. Four weeks total.

16 team playoff? Why not? What is the greatest event in college sports.....March Madness! Football would be even bigger and would take no more time than the drawn out bowl process now in effect. Four team is better but far cry from what is needed. We will end up with no smaller teams in. ACC, SEC will fill three spots with OSU and USC getting in once every few years.

Seat it like college B-ball with con-champs and at large bids. Step it down with 16/1, 15/2, 14/3 ect. Would be sweet to watch. Only thing that stops it is the "powerhouse" schools not wanting to be beat by the Boise st's or the TCU's. Make them play their way in through these schools not just side step them.

Now that Boise St and TCU are in major BCS conferences, they'll have nothing to bitch about.
I wonder which school will emerge as the next non-BCS conference powerhouse?

From what I gather, all changes are about enhancing the revenue stream. Any improvement in making championship sense is an incidental bonus.

Then the argument will continue..Who's "in" and who's "out will still be somewhat subjective, and all teams left outside looking in will be pissing and moaning...

That being said, some of the bowls are just brutal. Finish 6-6 and go to some bumfvck bowl? Waste of time...

Cut one of the non-conference games out and expand the postseason playoff field out....
