I just called Ted's about that 286 and he said its long gone.

You can get can buy some Sage gear rods (including the CT286 and CT290) from the company below. Cost is about $580 Canadian. They are NOT Sage factory rods but they are made using Sage blanks by the guy who used to run Sage's line of gear rods (Brian Babcock). Your warranty would be from him, not from Sage. You can order them in the same style as the factory used to make them or custom.
