My buddy woke up last night to his dog barking at 2:30 a.m. last night. he went downstairs, and right away, he noticed a window and bedroom door was opened that wasn't when he went to bed. He ran back and stood with his gun while his wife called 911.
When the cops showed, they found a pair of shoes outside the open window and, for whatever reason, the K9 unit was unable to catch a scent. They swept the house completely and the cops were about to leave when My buddy's brother happened to shine his flashlight on the roof of the house. Turns out this kid crept upstairs, past the master bedroom, and let himself in the 14 year old daughter's bedroom. When the lights came on and this guy heard commotion, he let himself out of the window onto the roof.
Now the bad part...
This kid goes to school with the daughter and I was his soccer coach for two years. The cops suspect he had the daughter targeted but luckily she was on a sleepover at a team mate's house. I can totally imagine this kid opening the daughter's bedroom door, her screaming and this kid gets shot- exactly what he deserves. You go to bed on an ordinary evening and wake up a couple hours later to a life threatening situation. This kid is SO lucky to be breathing this morning.
I coached him from 9-10 or so. Super short attention span, chubby, consistently disruptive. I used to make him run almost every practice because he would randomly crush the ball off the field during drills just to be a pill. He was overweight and his mom made him play- he wasn't there because he wanted to, he was there because he had to and it was obvious.
If I knew then that he would end up hurting this girl I would have...
Well... you fill in the blank.
Now they have to live with this POS because the worst he can get is B&E. As if a restraining order will really make a diff. All of these kids still go to school together- my son included. I don't see this going well.
Anyone been through this kind of proximity issues with someone that threatened your family?
