This Arab spring has come and gone. I had acually hoped that some of these nations could make a go of it. Allah willing, do something for their people in a positive way. Boy was I wrong.

Now we are faced with the Arab fall. All of these events in the last week has me wondering JUST EXACTLY HOW MUCH FREAKIN' MUNY and to whom we as American taxpayers dole out for the humanitarian and military " aid " to those who are obsessed with being ungrateful and still want to kill us.

It aint just one country in the region. It's all of them. I'd guess that we all here give up some of our tax muny every year so foreign aid funds could be sent to help these poor folks in the birthplace of civilized mankind. For me, it just is not working.

After 2000 years plus, These folks still still apear to bathe themselve in dirt, and seem to like it. Gezzus...Leave us not forget the goats.

i read yesterday that we give 1.55 Billion a year in humanitarian aid to Egypt... along with 1.3 Billion in military aid, and 250 Million in economic aid... top that with another 1.2 billion in humanitarian aid to Pakistan, and im not sure about the rest, but its likely up there.. we give 1.5 million in aid to Libya as well, but thats down from 3.5 million...

yet our country and our people are struggling... with that said, you could retract 1.3 billion in aid give all Americans 3 million dollars each, and still have money left over... obviously 4 year old kids dont need 3 million dollars, so that number would increase in left over money... and boom, you just fixed the economy, homelessness for the most part, and you arent giving money to a terrorist nation that harbors and funds them with money we gave them for "help" in the first place...

i watched a few trailers of the movie, its retarded... but its litterally a joke, that some people shouldnt have heard i guess... they can go and burn our flags, protest the US even tho we give them money, then when a joke is made about some stupid prophet they dont know if he was actually "true", they kill people... but, the underlying problem is most deffinately oil, yeah we may have a bunch stockpiled, but it aint enough.. people think that if all cars are electric, than we wouldnt need oil... WRONG.. boats, jets, lawnmowers, generators, weedeaters, blowers, snow blowers, ect all run on oil based products, yes there are some electric models out, but they arent affective in certian applications, you need gas powerd motors to do the job... and you need oil to make the gas.. so we are kinda screwed in a way... unless someone can come up with electric air planes and freighters over night... and hellicopters, fighter jets, trains, and other sh1t....

I think most of the stink is being stirred up by leaders in countries who benefit from the distraction away from what is really going on at home. It also has a lot to do with who profits from such hatred from each side. For the Muslim nations its corrupt governments and for the US its a corrupt govt. Its easy for the new and estabilhed govts in the Middle East to point the finger a the evil US as the casue of all their problems. Their uneducated people suck it up. It is just as easy in the US to point the finger at the evil and Ignorant Islamic people and the uneducated here suck it up. You see we have a lot in common with the ME we just did not know it.

Attacking Iraq was a gross misuse of the American military.

Al queda has never been much of a problem for the US and of great benefit as the boogie man. Nothing strikes fear into ma and pa bumpkin like the thought of Al Queda coming to chop off their head. i dare anyone that says that this didnt need to be done, to go 1 year without the aid of oil... that means no cars, no lawn mowers, it basically means NOTHING at all, it means go up and live in the woods with what you have now, nothing else... because everything shipped here, uses oil, farmers use oil in their equipment to harvest and proccess foods, so you cant even buy local food, you have to live off the land for the next year...

Okay, but you all realize that pretty much in ALL OF RECORDED HISTORY there has never been a time with as little warfare and violence as there is now? A huge part of the problem is we live in a time and place where something tragic, but ultimately SMALL on the grand scale of the planet, causes us all to lose our shiite (intended)...

So much of our mindset is driven (and manipulated) by FEAR, when in fact there is much less to fear these days than there was 50, 150 or 1500 years ago... We live significantly longer lives, wars and violence affect smaller segments of our population, yet we feel less safe because we allow ourselves to get worked up about what 2 wackos did last weekend in some dark corner of the world.

On another topic of this thread, pretty much *EVERY* ecosystem that is thriving (which humans *clearly* are) has uncontrolled population growth (which we are) until it depletes it's food/resource supply, which causes the population to crash to a small fraction of the maximum. Sure seems like that's a believable trajectory for humanity -- albeit over a long time-scale.

The recent attack Labia is a great example. The admin is still claiming it was Al Qaeda. The labians are claiming it was Quaddaffi loyalist punishing the US for interfearing in their country. Why would the admin claim it was AQ ? The boogie man factor pure and simple nothing motivates American idiots like good old fashioned fear. Research AQ and you will find that they are a disparate group of independent actors not some well oiled and financed machine. Bin Laden was holed up in Pakistan with out funding for the past 10 years.

The need for a boogey man is well documented in human history. We have always suffered from the duality of good and evil. We could not go to war to protect our economy there must be evil afoot.
