Anyone else get a couple of blizzard warnings on your phone yesterday?
I like the heads up about possible weather events, but they need to add the location to the alert to make them really useful.

I think the problem is that when they give an alert for "King County", everyone forgets that King County goes all the way up to the crest of the cascades.

Fish on...

They had one in GH County as well. It did snow north of Humptulips, and throughout the upper Nooch and Wishkah watersheds.

The NWS is blaming the issue on the cellular service provider, claiming that the geo-location services that should determine who-gets-what warnings were not working, and those user across Washington signed up for the alerts received the warnings, when it should have been only those signed up for Olympic and Cascade warnings.

That makes sense now. My wife said 3/4's of the folks in her office had their cell phone go off at the same time last night with the alert. She didn't get one but we don't live in Martin Luther King County either.

I just got a new phone, but I don't recall signing up for the any alerts.

Holy crap! that was loud enough and different enough to wake the dead! I thought it was going to be Snowmageddon until I did a little research and found out it was for west slope cascades and passes

I like the idea myself.....there was an option to be alerted or not. I chose the alert......might be handy to get a warning of a tsunami when one is no where near a public warning system.
