I have had a drift boat since 1976 and haven't floated the Sol Duc yet, which drift would you suggest to do first. I am very good on the oars? Thank You

Dick, if you are really good on the oars on the kinds of water you will find out west, rocky, fast chutes, log jams, ect., then you will have no trouble on just about any of the Soleduck runs. I would say save the bottom run for last, and try the hatchery run or maxfield to dimmel. Both have enough of a challenge to check your skill but there not bad. Hatchery is a little tougher, especially in low water. Go for it!

I think I would save the Bear Creek drift for last.

I'l agree ... Bear Creek last ... remember one thing when floating the 'Duc or any other difficult river ... all the talent in the world won't help you if you don't know which way to go ... watch those splits!
