I just ordered a few and can't wait to try them out. The "Aerofly" web page said to use a 1/0 hook with them. Is that right, sounds a little big???

Do you use sents with them? Does anyone piant the styrofoam heads?

Has anyone used the areopuff?
You drift them just like corkies?

I've used the Aeropuff on both the Coastal streams and locally here on the Snoqualmie.
I've had pretty good luck with a shrimptail added to the hook. I also push the eye of the hook into the little plastic tube, helps
keep the hook draggin off the bottom.
Good luck

Hi TH ... I use 1/0's a lot with them, and often 2/0's when fished with bait. I've used magic markers on the heads, but only do it with black when the water is extremely clear. The aeropuffs are very good too, I use them a lot in the selective fishery areas. The fish on the top of the river reports page is an aeropuff (fished solo) caught fish. Yep, fish 'em like any other sort of drift gear ... on place the marabou aerofly works extremely well is in the dead water current seams as it swings in the still water. Good luck!

TH,

The only thing I'd add, in addition to what Bob said, is that you should read the regulations closely for the river you intend to fish. Right now (March), most Washington rivers have gone to restrictive bait rules which means no bait and no scent. The white body of the Marabou will hold scent very well (similar to a "rag"), but just be careful that you are doing it legally.

Even where legal, don't put scent on the marabou itself ... you'll kill the action and that is what makes these so effective, especially along dead water seams!
