Found this in my email this afternoon. Don't know a thing about Terry Glavin, other than he has a book out called "Dead Reckoning" about Pacific Fisheries Management. I'm interested in the subject, though, and plan to attend to see what he has to say.

"The Mountaineers will host Terry Glavin, researcher, conservationist, author, and a member of Canada's Pacific Fisheries Resource Conservation Council on Tuesday, March 30th at 7:00 p.m., in the Summit Room at the Mountaineers clubhouse located at 300 Third Avenue West, Seattle. Call 206-
284-6310 if you need directions. His presentation "Confronting the Current Crisis in Pacific Fisheries" will focus on conservation efforts, fishery management and international agreements. It is not just "our Chinook", many wild fish are at risk...can the governments of the Pacific Coast stem the decline, will they be
able to develop sustainable runs, are there alternatives to treaties? Terry will have just returned from Ottawa and will speak to current efforts."

i'd definetely go listen to this presentation.

i'd also heartily recommend his book you mentioned. there is no better book detailing the decline of our fish resources in the northwest, even though the book mostly detailed bc's decline, the parellels with washington state fish management are obvious.

wish i was going to be around to catch him speak.
