Centralia police arrested a woman who called 911 to report that two people who she sold fake meth to were trying to break into her house and assault her early Sunday morning. When police arrived to investigate the incident, however, they discovered the Centralia woman was allegedly selling weed to teenagers at the time of the attempted break-in.
The woman, 31-year-old Melisa F. Akers, called police shortly after 5 a.m. to report that a man and a woman were threatening her, said Centralia police Sgt. Stacy Denham. When officers responded to her residence on the 1400 block of Johnson Road, the pair were gone.
Police asked Akers why they were trying to assault her, and she said it was because they were angry she sold them salt instead of methamphetamine, Denham said.
The pair left with the fake meth, after paying $20, and realized a short while later that they had been duped, Denham said. When the 31-year-old woman invited police into her residence, however, they smelled what appeared to be marijuana, and saw three teenagers sitting in her living room, Denham said. Akers confirmed to police that the odor was indeed marijuana, and she allegedly admitted to selling it to the teenagers, ages 15, 16 and 17.
Akers was arrested and booked into jail for alleged delivery of marijuana to minors, and the teens were released to the custody of their parents, Denham said. Akers’ dissatisfied customers, however, will not be facing charges because they did not purchase real meth.
