My first time on the river & maiden voyage for the new boat. Put in at Prichard's (nice guys). Drifted down to the bridge. Tried different colored plugs, corkies/yard, pink worm w/diver. Nothing. Talked to two different boats at the take out. One boat had 2 fish & the other had 5. They were locals that fish the river 4-5 days a week. I guess I'll try again next week. Definitly was nice to get out & on the river though. Anyone have any tips for this river? Ric

try a jet diver with a whole sand shrimp. peach corkies/red yarn sand shrimp tail, works for me there. a friend of mine who fished the kalama for years used nothing but eggs, no corkie /orange yarn very little weight. he caught an insane amount of fish that way. or for a boatride I may be able to show you some holes...........><^>

Thanks for the info Mr.T. How often can you get away during the week? I usually like to stay off the rivers during the weekend if I can help it. Although when the fish are in, I've been known to fish sat. & sun. Let me Know.

sorry for taking so long to reply, had to fish all weekend.
don't usually get time off during the week, but I can get time off if I need to...like when the fish are biting.
got 3 natives on the kalama this weekend but had to work real hard for them. the river is high and the fish are not holding in the drifts. stoped at a secret river on the way home and banked two hatchery fish in two casts, went home happy.><^>
