I keep reading about Tony Floor from WSFW catching all the big salmon, anyone else been doing any fishing? Checked the Seattle PI on Thursday, it was pretty general.
I've been fishing mostly on the north side of Orcas and one trip to Westbeach. Tried the Hummer hole last Thursday, but not much there. Had heard on the 1st that the salmon had piled up in there? Fishing is ok but not what I would call great, if you really work you can get your 1 salmon most days.

Just about every "hole" in the islands fishes best on a certain tide, or under certain currents. While you might catch a fish or two in certain spots anytime during the day, if you're there under the right tides you'll get into the good bites. For the most part, the Hummer fishes best towards the end of the flood and through high slack. Generally, most of the Northshore also fishes the same way, so if you're in the Hummer and there's no bait, no fish, it's an easy run to Thompson or Raccoon, or ??. The Northshore generally produces good numbers through July, then peters out in August. You'll find Tony off the west side of San Juan in August.

Yeh, you are right , I was out today and just got back, nothing happening, fish checker had only seen 2 fish all day. I tried the Hummer on the morning flood, then went over to Fisheries at waldron and then back to Pt Thompson when the NW wind started in at fisheries and followed the ebb down northshore to the Derby hole, lots of bait , just no fish. Was pretty good last couple of weeks.
