Bob would have been 68 today. Some of my favorite tunes of Bob Marley are from his ska days when the group was called the Wailing Wailers with Junior Braithewaite & Beverly Kelso in addition to Peter and Bunny. Bob was about 16 when he first recorded in 1962.
I was walking down the street in B'ham in 1975 & thru the open door of a music store, I heard 'Kinky Reggae' from the "Catch a Fire" LP. I went in & bought it & it's still one of my favorite lps of all time. It's more of the original Wailer line up & was the first reggae lp by the same group rather than a complilation of tunes by various artisits. Reggae was & is primarily a singles driven musical genre'.
Reggae music is now heard world wide due in no small part to Bob and The Wailers.

Here's a good one if you like a likkle ska:

He is no God but his music was and still is a force. Plenty of wisdom to be plucked out. 2 of my favorites below.

You can play this one at my funeral:

And play this one to bring me back:

On 21 May 1981, Jamaican Prime Minister Edward Seaga delivered the final funeral eulogy to Marley, declaring:

His voice was an omnipresent cry in our electronic world. His sharp features, majestic looks, and prancing style a vivid etching on the landscape of our minds. Bob Marley was never seen. He was an experience which left an indelible imprint with each encounter. Such a man cannot be erased from the mind. He is part of the collective consciousness of the nation.[52]

Pretty well sums it up.

Good man. Anybody who has the ability to bring so many together in a peaceful manner is a good man in my book.

Tastes in music are personal and subjective, so I won't bash you for being an unappreciative a-hole.

If you wish to listen to reggae music beyond what Bob, Peter, Bunny & the rest of the Wailers have available, catch Positive Vibrations 9-noon Saturday mornings with DJ Kid Hops. The shows are archived for two weeks for streaming at anytime and the playlist is put up so you can check to who the artist is & the tune.
