Heading to the penninsula next weekend and am wondering if the Hoh is fishable, or if we should plan on covering other water. We'll be fishing from shore, conventional and fly gear.

Any reports out there regarding Forks-area water?

mpaustin@earthlink.net

thanks!

Fishkisser,
Was on the Penn. last weekend, Hoh is grey/green about 8 inches to a foot depending on the time of the day! Solduc is @ 5 boards and has good color w/ about 7 feet of vis., Bogy,s low and kind of clear lots of boat scrapes on the rocks! Calawah looks like a lake @ 101, cant tell wich direction its flowing and the Queets is grey/green...Maybe a couple more weeks and the Hoh will come around, for the most part everythings a little high for this time of year but definately fishable...
As far as fish go! Diddent catch any Steelies but had wonderful Cutthroat fishing, must have released 4 or 5 over 13 inches one day, Saw a steelie on the Solduc when we drifted the Hatchery drift on Friday, guy caught it on eggs and a bobber in the fast water in the top of a hole. Other than that I dont know what to tell ya, the Ducs probably your best chance, at least the Cuttthroat fishin is good!

Reports I heard as of today were:

Hoh is out due to warm weather/snow melt.

Silvers are in the Sol Duc in good numbers and it is at about 3 boards.

Kimi and I are going out after work Thursday so we'll let you know
