Here's probably a dumb question for all you driftboat owners. I've got one oar that squeaks like hell and gets annoying after a few hours on the river. It's not the oarlock because I switch sides on the oars and the squeak follows the oar. I've tried oiling the rope wrap and that doesn't help. The sticks are very old wood sawyers with the rope wraps and rubber stoppers. It's not a big deal. Just annoying. Any suggestions to stop it? Maybe duct tape around the wraps?

I would try some parafin wax on the rope. It sounds like you might have a small crack of fracture under the wraps though, good luck

Try dish soap.
