went to Riffe the weekend before this and did very good. 3 of us fished the upper end and brought home 9. 4 of them were rainbows. we released 2x that number atleast. we only wanted to have a few for eating and put the rest back for next time. they were all between 14 & 18 inchers. caught them on worms or eggs. I'll be back up thar this Sat.will be in my Willie drift boat. good luck and leave a few for the next guy.

p.s. the fish hawk said it was the nicest catch he'd saw since last year.

dcrzfitter: I bought a new moter home (new to me ) and didn't get it ready in time to go last weekend. I'll make it this one. Hard to find a place to camp. Taidnampham is full. Hope to find a spot close to fishing bridge. Anyway thanks for the info, hope I can return the favor. Ducky

I have never fished the upper end of the lake, is it a big overnight type place. Have you been fishing from a boat, trolling with pop gear? That is the only way I have done it and done reasonably well. Flashers and wedding rings with shrimp or worms. If you got a diffrent method that works, that you don't mind sharing, I would appreciate it. ---------Fish on

jmolanoj: I have two boats(16ft hewscraft and 16ft drift boat) but I don't take them to fish riffe. I prefer to use bait and slip bobber,9ft down. There is a fishing bridge at Taidnapham camp grounds that is fun to fish from. Up stream 1/4 mile is a dam and above it is called Kosmos. Camp ground is always full, you must make reservations. jmolanoj $ ducky,

I fish from the upper dam to goat creek or the fishing bridge and do pretty well. from the bank goat creek is sapose to be a good spot and I've saw some NICE fish taken in front. I havn't actually fished Riffe alot but I plan on hitting it atleast this sat and maybe 1 more time before I start summer stealhead fishing. If you see me on the lake/river Give me a yel and we can swap howdys and maybe some tips. Like I've said before I have a 17' Willie drift boat(not yet painted we kinda stand out sometimes with our BIG cowboy hats. I drive a 85 Toyota 4x4 truck kinda light cream color and some times we pull the boat with my dads red and dark gray 91 chevy truck. as for camping the park is usually full but I would try the camp ground at the new lake above Riffe (it's sapose to be good fishing to)or just drive up in the hills and find a spot. it shouldn't be to bad finding a spot if you look off the normal spots. the bigest thing is getting a spot early before everybody els gets thar. like maybe a friday evening spot. good luck hope to see you on the water. and allways have fun!!!!!

thank you for all the info. I will be going up on Friday and stay untill Sunday. I will be staying at the upper campground( the Tacoma PUD I think) or around that area. I will for sure launch my boat from there, and will keep an eye out for you. My boat is a 19' Spectrum, blue and white. I tow it with a Tioga 22' Moterhome. Look me up if you are there.--------------------fish on
