My favorite is the STR1143GL3 which is a 9 1/2 footer rated 6-12.

Well, I just picked up a GL2 (can't remember the model, but I think it's a 10-17 lb 8'6") It's out in the car, and it's too cold right now to check.. heh.. But Also check out the Lamiglas 9' Medium action G1324-T... One hell of a rod!

Ditto on the GL3 1143 9.5 footer. Its not at all top heavy for a longer rod and it keeps more line off the water. Also provides a little more leverage when you have to bend a runner into the back bone.

My favorite all around steelhead rod was a LOOMIS str 125c GL3, its an 8'6" rod rated for 8 to 17 lb test. I sold that rod and up graded to a 1025 c IMX. I f you mainly fish for winter steelhead where you encounter higher flows the 1025 is a great rod, either in GL3 or IMX. If you fish summer steelhead too I would look at a 1084 C, They are a 9' 8 to 12, they come in IMX only. The 1082 is a great rod for low water lite line fishing. If price is a factor check out the GL2s, they are really tough rods. IMX rods are $325.00 + that scares some people away. Dot listen to people who say not use IMX when it is cold because it will break. Thats total B.S.
Good luck in your search for a new rod and I hope this helped you......
