I saw your post regarding chums in the Green and am hoping you'll divulge more information. Do you float it, or fish it from the bank? I've floated the Green before, but not for chums. What kind of water do you find the fish in, and what methods do you use? Do you fish your jigs deep? Since you can't fish from the boat, do you cast plugs?

Any info would be greatly appreciated...

Thanks in advance.

I'm Jigman's fishing partner and I know he's out of town for the weekend(you gotta be good to the wife sometimes so you can fish!). The Green is going to be blown for awhile, they opened the dam today at 10 am. I know we have fished it from the bank mainly either using jigs or drift fishing. You can't go wrong with something pink or chartruese. I know that he was killing the summer runs in the canyon before the rains hit and hasn't gone after the chums this year yet. He'll check in when he gets back. Good fishing!

Usually I'll fish it from the bank, though I'm not a huge fan of chums and will chase steelhead first if they are around. Jig depth depends on the water you are fishing but generally I run 3 foot or shallower on my jigs. The chums get spread out pretty good on the Green and you can catch them most anywhere from Flaming Geyser downstream.
