We need to negotiate the removal of the tribal commercial nets with CASH!!! Anybody got BILL Gates or PAUL Allens number? These fish are being sold, not used for tradition. Paul has a foundation for Timber land purchases, Maybe he would listen to the idea to a purchase the rights to the commercial nets.

How about using a license surcharge to finance the endvoir. .....Just a thought

Ring Ring .....Hello this is Paul

I have always wondered how much it would cost to pay the Indians not to fish? Calculate how much revenue all the tribes make in a year and pay them that amount. Of course allow any ceremonial fishing but end the commercial gill netting. I don't think anyone at Pikes Place would even notice and the economies surrounding popular rivers would flourish because of the outstanding opportunities it would create.

That is a good idea. How would a person get ahold of Paul?

That's a good thought, but the tribes have made it clear that they will never sell their fishing rights for any amount of money.

Never is a strong word! I truly believe the natives have open minds and would be willing to discuss options that benefit all parties. Tribes are made of members and I have heard different views from some of the members. Fishing is a resource that needs a long term solution. Natives have families that need income for support and they use what ever resources are available to them to reach those means. What we have now is not working. We need a unified position (More fish for all) to negotiate a workable solution. The finger pointing continues from all sides (indians, sporties and commercials). Anything is possible ie....look at Ireland!!
