Where is the best place to buy floats and jigs.... period?

Ted's Sports Center in Lynwood has a pretty good selection of ready made jigs, floats, and components to make your own. Plus a couple of guys behind the counter that have quite a bit of expertise.

Yup, just ask the "girls" to show you how to make them. They have a great selection of materials and you will have the satisifaction of having hooked fish on something you made. next you'll be tieing you'r own flies and sinking a lot more money in the pursuit of fish. Good luck.

Like TH, I live far enough way that popping over to Ted's isn't a ready option. In the past I've ordered jigs from Leo's Special but I've misplaced the address (try STS). Prices are $1.10-$1.25/ jig and you can specify whatever body (color beads), hook size and tail color.

Lindy Little Joe has the best selection of Thill float fishing gear I've come across. Contact them at Box C, 1110 Wright St, Brainerd MN 56401, T: 218-829-1714; F: 829-5426

Bass Pro also has a reasonable selection of Thill balsa floats. (Cabela's has a little.)

I've not (yet) ordered from Mr Ed's 'dink floats' catalog but his address is 4001 SE Crown Rd, Camas WA 98607. T/F: 206-834-3986.

Two good all-around steelhead/ salmon catalogs I found surfing the net are at:

1. Fishmerman's Shack (6465 Arilie Rd, Monmouth OR 97361, T: 503-838-6395). Mostly spinner components, hooks and spin-n-glo's (don't have the URL to hand!)

2. Mortac (www.mortac.com), again for spinner components, spoon components plus a lot of other interesting stuff.

If your looking for the best hand tied marabou jigs around contact Rainbow Jigs at rainbowjigs@aol.com and request an order form. They have 5 sizes from 1/32nd to 3/8th oz in a variety of colors and do custom orders. They also carry 4 glow in the dark colors. Jigs are $1.50 ea. and work great! I banked 13 steelhead last wednesday on them!

There is a website at www.aerofly.com that has a few jigs and a sort of jig called an aerofly, I haven't tried them myself, but people do say that they work.
