My 11 year old daughter swims for the West Coast aquatics swim team, and we're trying to raise funds to revamp the locker rooms at the pool. We are a non-profit community pool and swim team that has taught many local kids to swim. If any of you would like more information, let me know!

Swimmers Swim Laps for Cash

Mill Creek, WA - On Saturday, May 4, the swimmers of the WEST Coast Aquatics swim team will be holding an official Swim-a-Thon.

During the Swim-a-Thon, these competitive swimmers, who range in age from 7 to 17, will swim for 2 hours or up to 200 lengths of their pool, that's 3 miles! And they hope to raise $50,000.00!

Swim-A-Thon is a nationwide program, with 5% of the money raised going to support national swimming programs, such as Make a Splash, through the USA Swimming Foundation.

WEST provides a safe and positive environment for all levels of swimming from beginner to national-level competitive swimming. Swimmers as young as 3-years-old can learn the basics of swimming and water safety, progress through the WEST Swim School to pre-team, and then onto the competitive team.

The pool is also used by a water aerobics group and a synchronized swimming team. Each summer kids from the community enjoy the fun and activity of the Summer Swim Team. In the fall and winter, Jackson and Arch Bishop Murphy high school swim teams practice at WEST. Zumba classes, personal training, and swim team dryland workouts take place in the gym.

Reaching the $50,000.00 fundraising goal will allow WEST to cover facility maintenance costs and remodel the locker rooms. And with all the traffic the locker rooms see on a daily basis, this remodel will benefit all who use the facility. Please help WEST's swim team surpass their goal!
