I've heard that as part of the new US/Canada commercial fishing agreement the pressure on BC steelhead will increase substantially. The guy I heard this from, a WDFW fish bio, expects large decreases in returns. Has anyone else heard anything about this? What about people from BC who check this board. Any info?

I heard the run on the Thompson is poor this year, 18th worst year out of twenty-one years of reaserch.

I live and fish in BC and have not heard that most upsetting news. I will certainly be looking into that though. I do know that my favorite steely stream has only given a glimpse of one fish so far this season. it's a little early for most streams but there should be more fish than that here by now.
