Our Earth Day project.

Dug it out yesterday, roughly, and set the line and level. Hard work done.


Got home from work, and the boys and I knocked this out on about two hours.





Yup. We took creosote soaked timbers and made the wife a "sunflower garden patch" on the south side of the house. We burned the cut ends in the brush pile. We killed the grass and weeds with Crossbow and Round-up a few weeks ago to make it easy. Love smelling like 2 cycle, bar oil, and railroad ties.

If "momma"is not happy...nobody is happy...

looks great Andy... whats the tank for? natural gas for a generator?

Propane for hot water and the fireplace.

I'm gonna call you, Mr. Overkill.

South side of house might be a good place for tomatoes as well?

Eventually we will face the concrete foundation with brick. That should radiate some more heat, which would be good for toms.

Using creosote timbers on Earth Day ? At least the bugs will not eat them.

We lined the timbers with visqueen to keep the soil from contacting them.


Didn't take much diesel to get the burn pile going.
