Hey guys, I was looking into buying a new lamiglas and am torn between the old standard norwest special or the new little more expensive ( 30.00 ) lamiglas pro series. Anybody got any input, would really appreciate it !!!!! By the way this rod will be used for the rivers.

I just purchased a new Lamiglas Certified Pro Dave Vedder 10'6" 8-12 casting rod. I pay a $100.00 for the rods and $75.00 for G1000 series. The Northwest specials carry no waranties as far as my knowledge, spend the extra few bucks and buy the G1000 series or the Certified pro. I have 2 8'6" G1000 series and a 9' G1000 series, this salmon season I snapped one of the 8'6"'s on the Satsop and returned it to Lamiglas, they sent me a whole new rod even though supposebly it only has a 5 year waranty... I know for a fact that the Certified Pro's carry a lifetime Warranty, if it was up to me, I would spend the extra money... if you are going to use this rod for all around river use, plug pulling, drifting, and what ever else you want to do with it, I would probally have to go with an 8'6" 10-20, pretty heavy for steelies but decent for salmon, good all around rod... that's just my input... Eric so when you gonna try kiiling me on the Nooch this Winter? I am dieing to go... Also where are the fish? Lake Aberdeen hatchery has none yet... tired of waiting... I heard Lake Aberdeen has some nice liver fed trout in it though... just a thought... hehe j/k...

If you are ever around Woodland WA, stop by and check out their seconds that they have in stock. I assume that most of these rods were replaced on a warranty and then fixed. While these rods have no warranties, you can pick up a certified pro for around $80. I stop by from time to time and see what they have in and have found some good rods at great deals. Selection is usually pretty good.

Hey, I have a G-1324 T (9') that says it is a certified pro, and has a lifetime... Great rod! Is there a G1000 series rod that isn't a CP?? I never really looked into it.. hehe =)

I picked up the 10'6" in Chehalis. Some guy sold New Lamiglas rods out of his van at a little craft thingy... He is there quite often and has great, I mean great prices... Stop by and check him out... Checked with Lamiglas to see if this rod was for real and they said it was and it had the lifetime warranty... 100.00 beats the retail price of 275.00

Hey Andy,
Where is this craft thing in Chehalis? Is it there all the time or something that is only around for shows of some sort? My Brother lives in Adna and I go down there quit often. Thanks

Hey guys, thanks alot for all the info. I ended up going to sportco (gods store for fisherman) and got the G1000 series kenai guide model 1313-T. First though I bought the 8 foot 9" pro series and when i got it home i was showing it off when i barely touched the tip to show off the mag tip when it BROKE!!!!! must have had a flaw. So i took it back (another 100 miles) and they let me return it, no problem. Well by that time i kind of had a sour taste in my mouth so the salesman (great guy) started breaking out every lamiglas known to man and i settled on the kenai model. It has the mag tip but still has a good ass on it for that big one. once again i appreciate your help.
