It all boils down to this - I'm right, everyone else is wrong, and anyone who disputes this is clearly a dumbfuck.

very true 2many, very true...........
Flea, he was a black lab. It is actually a blessing because we was really struggling with his breathing. had to give hime tranquilizers to keep him from over exerting himself (might have to take one in order to burry him)... The vet gave me an estimate of $1100 to "investigate the issue"..... at 12 years old we passed on that.
Weird thing just happened. I told a fellow co worker and she burst into tears, I ended up having to console her about a dog that died 3 years ago.... far out.

Weird thing just happened. I told a fellow co worker and she burst into tears, I ended up having to console her about a dog that died 3 years ago.... far out. That is actually not that uncommon. Humans often have weird way of compartmentalizing death and grief. You could even argue that it is a biological feature of humans, designed to allow us to continue moving forward despite events that might otherwise completely shut us down. I've seen a couple different people that have lost loved ones (relatives and even children) and, to me, there reaction was so muted it seemed odd. In each of these two cases, the people subsequently "lost it" when a pet died a routine, natural death. Suppressed grief will find its way out and, many times, it is a "less significant" trigger that does it. Kind of sounds like what happened to your coworker. I wish you the best in dealing with your loss. Dogs are the best and it isn't fair that their lifespans are so short in comparison to ours.

Sorry for your loss. I've been lucky enough to be associated with multiple labs during my life. They all had great souls.

Yep, my condolences. Extended kids are hard to part with.
I don't even want to any where around when the wife's [Bleeeeep!]-zu kicks the bucket.

You know when you're in good company.......they have dogs. My two are a pain in the arse..... I've said that about every dog I've ever owned, I'm sure. There are five buried in the field here. Loved them all. Can't quit having dogs as part of my life.....there are just too many who need a loving home.
In case you didn't get it......I know what it's like. Thanks for sharing the way too familiar pain. It gets easier with time. Hang in there.

Sorry to hear, Moby.
My last one, a deadgrass Chesapeake lived to almost 17. It was a tough day when Kruzer (aka Enos the Penis) was called home. Airborne Frisbee grabber, dock launcher, grinner, beer lovin' athlete. I tear up just thinkin' about him.
