I've had success in the past doubling-up Lil Corkies or pairing up two different types of drift bobbers. One such pairing has been a rag/Cheater combo, made by replacing the bead or sequin at the hook eye with a small Cheater. C&R'd many nates last season with this combo. Hooked most of them in heavier water.

I was wondering if other drift fishers on this BB have had success doubling up?

I like using two to four small ones rather than one that has the same amount of flotation/size. I think there is less obstruction of the hook that way with the way I rig them.

I double up quite a bit. I usually use 2 # 12 corkies. I usually do it when the water is dirty to get a larger profiled bait. I mainly use 2 contrasting colors also. red/green pink/chartuse and luminous peach/red.
I use a lot of double # 10 corkies for chinook, It gives me a larger profile when using eggs, I dont need to use as much bait that way. It sure helps save on egg use.
I also like using a small corkie under a spin-n-glow. I use the corkie instead of yarn for added contrast and color. Yarn has a tendency to tangle and stop the spinning drift bobber from spinning

I have also used double rigs with great success in higher water. Actually a pair of pinkies has been the kicker for me. Got the tip from Herzog for kegged hatchery finn and I must say, it is the trick!

Yes I double up on medium size corks in dirty water. Sometimes I wonder if the "clacking" of the corkies together doesn't add some enticement.

I too have had success doubling up. I've used a few of the combos above. I've primarily used a corkie and rag combo. Usually I try to make the rag color similar to the corkie. I actually had a damned good trip in March this year floating the upper Hoh. My buddy and I were floating together, not having much luck. I was using mostly plugs, flies, and corkies. Well, I added a red corkie next to the hook, a rag behind the corkie, and a pink steelie worm to the hook. I let the combo drift into rock cover and bam, had a nice 9lb steelie. I caught a few more and was the only one to catch on the trip. I've also used just cheater or corkie and rags alone or with eggs. I've nothing but success using them. Rarely do I use straight eggs or just one "lure" on my line. It seems to work quite well. The double corkie works good too. I like using the rag though, I think it adds a bit more lift to the drift. In fact, try running a rag next to the hook with a bead then a spinglo for steelies. I've caught some nice nat's and hatcheries on the 'Nooch with that combo (in chartreuse/orange combo on both rag and spinglo). I quite literally had rod jerked out of my hand.

Hey, they don't always work, but if it works once it could work again, good luck and tight lines.........

I have good luck using a balloon tied just above the hooks. :-)

Don't feel special... It's just the popping noise when you set the hook into the thing, that scares the hell out of the fish and makes it jump into your boat.... *LOL*
