when i floated the sky this summer i had the family with me and didn't want to brave the logjam above wallace so i walked around it. when i loked at it i would be inclined to stay on the right bank, close to it and then pull away with the current and avoid the whirlpool altogether. i'm not a real expert on the oars and i know this would put me close to the logs but it seemed like the place to be. anyway i was wondering how the more experienced rowers in this crowd handle it.

I tended to back off a bit more, but other than that basically the same route. I havent been up there lately but my buddy tells me that its much tamer now than it was in early summer. He told me the gravel shifted and it flows thru better, but the last high water could have changed that again.
