I don't have any suggestions on brands or prices but I can tell you, you will want a U-tube instead of a donut. I have a donut and it is almost impossible to get in and out of in some situations. Like small hike in lakes with steep drop offs or very muddy shallow bottoms. U-boats are much more convenient.

There is no comparison. I have owned both and the u-boat is far superior. First, it is easy to get into and out of. Second, you can kick faster and with less effort because of the reduced drag. Of course if you really want comfort adn speed combined, look into one of the smaller pontoon craft.

Unfortunatly I bought a doughnut because the price was right. I’ve had this thing since last spring but have yet to get it in the water. I’m really not sure where I can go without getting run down by a boat. I really would like to get in the water and try this thing out on some local waters. I live in Everett, anyone have any suggestions?

As far as fins go, I highly recommend the Force Fin, it's expensive, about 90 bucks or so, but worth it. They are lighter and you wear them with neoprene booties, plus they propel you a lot faster..
