I plan on floating the Hoh later this month. I have not been on this river for several years. I plan on doing the Allen's bar to Cottonwwod the first day, then to Nolan Creek or possibly down to the shake mill on the 2nd and 3rd day. I forgot the name of the shake mill. Any comments on the river sections or take-outs will be appreciated.
Is there still a turn around service available in Forks?
I plan on using 15# test for my plug reels and 10# for my drifting rigs, spoons and floats. I use Maxima Ultragreen for all my reels. On the Hoh I plan on using #1 Gammy hooks and #10 corkies and cheaters.
Any comments or suggestions regarding the above information will be greatly appreciated.

Sounds like you are ready as far as gear goes! For shuttle call Ted @ 360-374-5195, you can call night before or in the morning. He charges 20 bucks to do the hoh and 12 for the rest! Shake mill is called the G & L, There is a road you take called the G & L shake mill. Its a brown road sign not green so watch for it.

Does anyone know if it is legal/possible to camp in this stretch? Or any other stretch accessable by drift boat? Thanks.

You can stay at Allens I believe. You can camp at Cottonwood and the bar at the G & L. you can pretty much stay on any bar unless otherwise posted. But I havent seen to many signs that say otherwise.

Cottonwood is a good campground/base camp for the lower river. If you're nuts enough to camp out this time of year, you'll have your pick of spots. Oxbow is another good one up just above 101. I don't know what the launch area there is like after the floods. And up higher Minnie Peterson has camping. Check the Gazeteer.

Camping out this time of year has to be pretty tough, unless you've got a 36' fifth wheel or motorhome. Even at that I plan on lodging at the City of Forks finest, probably the Forks motel unless any of you have a better suggestion.

If the weather holds you should have a good trip its beautiful over here in God's country. Another great option for overnite accomodations is at Bear Creek Homestead Bed and Breakfast. Great country breakfast, soak in the hot tub at nite and watch the elk in the field. Good luck fishin.
