Thanks for sharing LTF365, I hope you get to get back on the water ASAP! Kidnap County drainage regulations are definitely over-the-top!

Looks like you added a bunch of lamp black dye to the concrete to darken it up, nice touch. I've done that with a couple exposed aggregate slabs I've poured and it really helps the aggregate 'Pop'

I'm just kicking off a radiant floor install in my shop-to-daughters-bedroom remodel. Doing remodeling work is fun, Doing it for yourself is waaaay funner.

Look great Cheryl! It's a long haul when you DIY. We took over 2 years building out new house and garage. Fortunately had no issues with any contractors. And it really does feel good when you can go fishing again. You deserve it!

Two Dishwashers. It makes a lot of sense to me. You never have to unload it? Just pull what you need from it, and throw the dirty dishes in the empty one. That's smart!. Why all the cupboards then?

Nice job and design.

Quick question. Couldn't tell by the pics--at the bottom of the siding- where it contacts the concrete-did you flash the bottom of the siding or does the concrete contact the PT board in the pics?
It looks like you used Hardy siding. Did they just run the hose wrap down behind the PT board?
I do rot repair for a living and by the pics it looks like you have a problem in the making. I hope not. It can get spendy to fix it.

thanks guys...

sky-guy...it was 8084 Carbon color added...27lbs per truckload...we had 3 trucks...I love the color it matches the roof smile

steelspanker...a Kleenex box hahahahahah

fishnclifff...yes my builder was supposed to run the cedar all the way across the back...but if you look close he only ran it part way mostly under the covered area of the porch...

we did have some type of thick plastic type almost metal im sure is was a house wrap stuff...

the front porch was done with the cedar...they are going to have to go in and fix the trim in the back porch...we have been asking him to fix the back since April...he is the worst contractor ever

the two posts in the back were not done correctly and we suspect we will have them rotting out in about 3 to 5 years depending on how wet they get...we are going to have to figure something out on that...they should have put posts in instead of the wood...like I said he is the worst...we have been doing nothing but double checking his work...ill have to come up with a list of most of his crap he pulled later hahahah

I for the most part finshed the inside painting today and they sprayed the outside today...you should have seen how much they had to tape off cause of the concrete...they have had months to paint and great weather...my builders fault...oh well...

Final is still set for Wednesday...keep your fingers crossed for us smile

I can tell you first hand it's coming along very nice. I drive by twice a day to and from work. Watched from the beginning .i liked seeing how its progressed. It should be a great place once you have it all sorted out. But seriously, tell us who the builder is.or at least the initials. stir

Congrats on the new place. It always feels good to finish a new house.

Look at it this way, at least the builder/contractor was not a family member or friend or something. I have some friends who had to hire a family member, and while he is not making huge mistakes his scheduling issues are causing some real family drama.

they put the rock wall in yesterday...it is freaking awesome and just the perfect height to lean on and drink a beer...50 ft long ad super perfect...if only we could figure out how to put a keg-a-rator behind it hahahha
