I was thinking about laser pointers the other day ironically and looked up some stuff. I remember PK from the radioshow the Playhouse had a powerful. Wickedlasers dosent have the strongest , they false advertise. There are guys that have much stronger custom ones. They have forums just like this place based on them, lol. They take the lasers out of dvd players , blue ray players and projectors . Scary [Bleeeeep!].

i dont like light sabers, i like axes and 12 guages...

FYI Star Wars sucks anyways...

of course there are brighter, but not small ones... ive got a 15 million CP light around here somewhere that will blind you for a good 15 minutes if you look at it... you can feel heat from it 10 feet away probably... but it also weighs a ton, and is as big as a freakin garbage can...

with that said, i would rather have the one that Slab posted originally, check the run times, and battery prices for the rechargables... the Torch is more of a novelty i have it, you dont, hold my beer and watch this, type light... the other, is actually functional, and wont give you 3rd degree burns while reading a map!

What's the battery life?

The guys that were building them would use flashlight bodies. Some had more power than others. I think they are relatively easy to make after reading some posts amd seeing the level of craftsmanship. Some looked like crap but were said to be pretty damn powerful.

I was more off topic I guess. Most were lasers, I think you can get adapters.

you also didnt see that it was a knock off from China, and you can get basically the same ones on Ebay for 150 bucks wink

http://www.candlepowerforums.com/vb/showthread.php?339257-Ultibeam

p.s. the run time is around 70 minutes for the Ultibeam.... i doubt its a true 8k lumens tho... maybe initial fire, but not prolonged...
