Anyone have a good retail source for spinner componets? I've been lost since Pen-Tac went belley-up a few years back. Sportco's selection is surprisingly poor. Fisherman's Marine and GI Joe's in Portland is better but still not that good. I can always mail order from Cabela's but would rather stay local.
But it'd be nice to have .032" silver plated French blades again. They're great on winter-runs.

I never fished with Pen-Tac but my understanding is they're now Mor-Tac. Check them out at http://www.mortac.com . I love their components. In the Seattle area, Ted's in Lynwood, Salmon Bay in Seattle and Sporties in Redmond all sell their good retail. Otherwise, they're very good about getting orders out ASAP if you phone or mail it in. Enjoy. Bruce

I'll second that. Mortac has good stuff -- everything you need to make your own spinners. Good luck!

I was a diehard pen-tac spinner user, sure do miss Jed's company.I switched to Mor-tac after they were gone, but then discovered the Fishermans Shack (5038386395)they also can be viewed at www.proaxis.com/~fishshack.They have a far superior plating process than Mor-Tac,They also have the thick thumping blades youre looking for.you wont be dissapointed.

Coho, BC angling in Oregon City has a very good selection, I drive down once or twice a year and he's quite the spinner builder, he carries those nice thick "silver plated frenchies" But I think Zig Zag's Lure Company in Zillah Wa. has better body components and he's probably one of the most knowledgable spinner fisherman out there, he and his father were boondoggin' spinners on the cowlitz in the Early & Mid-70's. Hmmmm. Clancy?

My vote for the FISHIN SHACK, he's an old Coquille, OR native (as you can see I said old native, he was released and has since moved on) He's a good guy, happy to answer any questions. Mail in orders are shipped free too. TH

Another vote for the fishermans shack. They have all the stuff I will ever need and the owner is a first rate customer oriented gentleman. I buy a lot of stuff there as they are local.

I'm from Corvallis, have fished the Alsea a couple of times this year and will hopefully hit the Siletz this weekend.
