Does anyone have a recommendation for a monofilament line dressing to keep the line from sinking while float fishing?

I have had pretty good experience with mucilin for flyfishing so why not float. I tried the loon brand floatant ( the grease type) It didn't work very well. The xink brand floatant stays on your line permanently or until you de-xink it with the sink xink ( confusing). any way my head is spinning from all the inks. ....try mucilin.... 3.00 a pop

Mucilin......it works best, Plus for 3 bucks you have more than you probally ever need.
You need to apply it 3 or 4 times a day while fishing.

Another option is to use a braid for your main line, with a mono leader. Braid stays on the surface, like a treated line would. The fireline 20lb smoke color seems to work well. I use it and use a 3-6 foot maxima ultra green leader. You might want to give it a try.---mike

TDODGE, You shouldn't need any line dressing for mono, if your float fishing properly your line shouldn't be on the surface at all. Thats why float rods are so long, to keep your line off the water.

I use fifteen pound line on an eight and a half foot rod to be able to pull fish out of faster water and to be versitle. With a rod of that length I use larger diameter mono so it will float. If you are using mono and it is sinking than go to a larger diameter.

hey guys just regular old white candle wax works great and you don't have to repeat putting it on near as much as muslim or whatever.Even with a longer rod you'll still have some line dragging your float use you really should put wax or something on your line so it will float, REALLY
