Has anyone caught any steelhead or heard of any lately? I was out sunday and this morning around Flaming Geyser without any luck. The water looks reel good but void of fish, at least for me. Have been thowing spoons and shrimp with no bites.
Thanks in advance

I've been doing okay on the Green, but the fishing is slow! Got 1 hatchery fish each trip out last week on jigs.

Jigman, thanks for the diligent reporting. I wasn't aware that any hatchery fish made it up to the Headworks area. Interesting. But I guess if I was a brat, I'd bypass the sterile confines of the hatchery and head for the Headworks too! Question for you, just out curiosity: have you ever fished the water upstream of the gates? Last year I took a hike past the gates just to check things out; I wasn't sure what to make of the water...

Fished the Green this morning, picked up 2 fish. A 10 pound hatchery fish on a pink worm/jighead and a 7 pound nate on a jig.

Hey Jigman:
I have a question for you. I have seen your post before regarding the setup of the pink worm. Are you having luck with this setup in the ultra clear water conditions the green has been in? Just curious, I usually only use the pink worm when the water is a little off, and shy away from it when the visability is huge-----mike

Curiosity peaked here too! I've found kind of the opposite of what you'd expect fishing pink worms. I've had the most success using worms in hugely clear water (with brats). Its like that long dancing pink thing that the fish can see bank to bank pisses them off and they hit it.
For nates, it doesn't really matter what color the water is. Drift fishing a pink worm is like using corky/yarn at a terminal.
Has this been your experience? Tight Lines

They seem to work great in clear water, I got alot of summer fish on them when the water was lower and clear as it gets. I don't think they find the worm threatening at all. I run them on a 1/4oz head in the winter and an 1/8th oz head in the summer but the length of the worm remains the same.

hit the green today with my kids, seen about 15-20 others fishing besides us. We started below flaming geyser then worked our way up upstream to above the park. Only thing to report is a lost blue fox vibarx,(thanks to my daughter).*L* Nobody we talked to caught anything. B.T.W. Marked the spot where she lost the spinner, will go after it maybe this summer..heh-heh. The water was low and very clear.

Meandered out to the Green this morning at 8:30. It picked up a slight snow tinge since last thursday. Fished 3 hours and got one 7 pound buck and missed 1 other fish.

Just got off the green today after catching a 20lb native buck in only 2 hours bank fishing. Yesterday we floated and never got a bite, also talked to two ohter boaters who never touched a thing. Any one else do any good?

Hit one hatchery hen 'bout 8 pounds, below Flaming Geezer. 1st 'head since last year. Wife's been getting pretty suspicious all these many weekends. Finally, vindication. BTW, was using a jig, about 3 feet under the surface. Wah-hoo!
