I'm taking a guided river trip down the Quinalt this weekend and was wondering how the fishing/river condition has been? Anyone! Thanks, tight lines.

Sceamingreelron, bad judgement on your behalf If we keep refering to the natives as our enemy then we will never get anything accomplished. But if we have patience and work TOGETHER we will accomplish a lot more. Name calling and fighting has been tried and shown not to work. Old argument, time to go forward not backwards. Jim Marquis

Scream, the guides on the Quinault are NOT the enemy!! --- I have fished with guides on the Quinault and found them to be friendly and helpful. Enjoy the fishing wherever and whenever you can, leave the negative talk with the lawyers.

THE QUINAULTS really have their stuff together they've created a fishery unmatched by any others I've seen ,if so and so wants to give his money to a guide to catch monster fish YOU GO BOY it's his nickel.I can only afford 1 guided trip a year and my dates coming up YEEHA!!FISH ON!!!!

A friend and I fished the Quinalt last March with Tandy Charlie. It was a great trip and he is a great guide. We took 3 18# hens and a couple of smaller bucks. He is not "the enemy"

Its not the Tribes its the use of gill nets in the rivers that are the ENEMY I believe if you asked some of the native guides they will agree with you. Although the Quinault do have one of the best fisheries programs in the state could you imagine how much more money could be made if they curtailed the nets and opened up the sports fisherie? How much would you pay for a guarenteed limit of three fish and a good chance of one of them being a twenty pounder? Lets see at $150.00 for a trip thats $50.00 a fish what do they get for the fish they net $5 to $10.00 each?

I am not about making friend, nor being politically correct. I am about expressing the more than obvious facts! Indians put nets in rivers. They also shoolt elk on wildlife refuges! The Quinalt's are to be commended...they have figured it out. Sportsman pay a lot better than the fish buyers. This is one sportsman that just cant overlook all the other abuses and open my wallet to them........and Iam not alone.

Others on this board have stated it's not the Indians they have a problem with it's the nets.

Have the indians done all this???no Hmmmmmmm-Hint "White Men Can't Jump" but fish do. I am sure you can see we are all brothers when it comes to turning it all around.

A lot of valid points Coho ... and do remember that there have been heated discussions about those problems also ... but do remember one thing: even as messed up as the state of WA is, our legislators had enough sense 70 YEARS AGO to ban intentional commercial netting of steelhead in the state's rivers.
