he also lived in Seattle and Bellevue.... in 2004 he was arrested for shooting out 2 construction workers tires during what he called an "anger fueled blackout"... it also seems that he was an active responder in the 9/11 attacks in NY, while he was living there too, and that the PTSD from the events, could have taken a toll on him.... http://blogs.seattletimes.com/today/2013/09/washington-navy-yard-shooter-once-lived-in-seattle/

What? You mean a guy with firearm convictions had...a firearm? And used it to shoot at people?
Someone should come up with an idea to stop that...maybe something really out there, like a background check program, or something like that?
Fuckit...just give everyone guns and let the "free market" handle it.
Fish on...

Except that I'm sure the "hired killers" were just desk jockies...the real killers are half a mile away ensconsed in the Capital Building.
Fish on...

I'm surprised things like this don't occur more often, like on a daily basis. In 2008 there were about 14,180 *(murders in U.S.)* according to FBI statistics. However, it should be noted that some jurisdictions don't report to the FBI, *mine*

FP is justifying murder of innocent people. I can't believe his insensitivity and ignorance.
My thoughts and prayers are with the victims, families, co-workers.

The important question is this:
Why does a guy with firearms convictions have access to guns?
I already know the NRA's response..."We need more guns!"...
Now the gun safety proponents will suggest common sense gun safety regulations, the NRA and other fruitcakes will yell that "Obama is after your guns again!", and the nutjobs will run out and buy every gun and piece of ammo in the shops again.
Guess who wins? The gun/ammo industry, again...they're the ones who profit from massacres, and their sock puppets at the NRA like it that way.
They don't give twoshits about the people who got shot, so if you want someone to yell at, yell at them, not at FP. He's only one guy who can do nothing to change the culture...but the NRA is perpetrating this crime on humanity on a daily basis.
Fish on...
Todd

But...but...but...how does a guy with past gun convictions, addicted to violent video games, PTSD & Meds, 8 previous in-service citations get secret security clearance to a gun free zone Navel Base? The Navy claims their background check came up clean! Hmmmmm???
I tell you....politically correct, affirmative action on full display. Sorry but lets just call it what it really is.

I don't think every time there is a tragedy we need to have some national debate on gun control. What I'd rather have the debate on is why people think it's OK to use guns to solve social problems. In my mind, anyone who thinks that a gun is a useful tool to solve social problems is somebody who should not be allowed to have a gun. This includes just about everybody in the military, the NRA, most politicians and roughly 50% of police officers.
+ a bazillion... But, to be clear...the NRA knows damn well that no one is coming after your guns. They perpetrate that lie on a daily basis to the waiting sheeples who run out and buy more guns and ammo, and the NRA and their corporate masters laugh at those clowns all the way to bank. The NRA has no respect at all for its own members, it lies to them daily and takes their money while laughing right at them. Fish on... Todd

OK- what now? BackGround Check For that last damn time - these shootings HAVE NOTHING TO DO WITH GUNS and everything to do with our "feel good, don't offend anyone" society were we cannot (or will not) properly deal with mental illness, especially in the military - as that would be an admission that PTSD is real and life long pay-outs are to be made to our soldiers. We dumped 95% of our mentally ill on the streets at the end of the Carter admin and nothing has improved since that time. We broke them and yet we can't "afford" to "fix" them, let alone lock em' up because that would just be too insensitive / racist / bigoted / hurftful. But, ya...once again....lets go after the spoon that made us fat. Merica' common sense...F YEAH!
