I think everyone who loves football should take a moment and say a little prayer for Coach Don James as he battles cancer. While I am not a Husky fan, as I look back on the legacy he left at the UW , I am more and more impressed with the success he fostered at that program. Coach James set the bar so high that I'm not sure anyone will be able to match his successes and achievements in the future. When your team was able to beat a Coach Don James team, you knew you had done something special that Saturday. Good luck Coach and continue the fight!

Any fan of the game cheered for Coach James and his crew when they were tearing it up.

DD is the exception to the Duck rule.

At times my dad thought James was too conservative but his record speaks for itself. From 1975 to 1992, he had 178 wins and 76 losses, went to 14 bowls, winning 10 of them, had 6 conference titles, and 1 National Championship, and had a 15-3 record vs. Oregon.

But most importantly, he was a class act and brought respect to the program.

I wish him the best of luck.

I wish Don James well. When he came onto the scene he was able to get talent good enough to compete with the LA schools. Had some huge linemen both from around this area and California.

That's sad to learn about DJ. Cancer sucks. Wishin' the best for Coach.
