There has been a lot of references to the "Zipperlip." Could those that have one please indicate which river it is. Oh, and could y'all include directions to the most pristine drift that it contains. Thanks in advance for clearing up the cornfusion.

Hohwaiian, just head south...or is it north? Well, take the first Y in the road to the left and when you see the log-jam in the road, you are there! I am sure that most everyone elses directions are as good a mine, but then again since I am the first to reply to your post, there should be some great directions headed your way. LOL

It is very easy to get to the "Zipperlip". You simply have to wake up at 3:00 a.m. in order to prepare. First, you must be aware of the foliage in the area to insure that you apply the correct type of face camo for your excursion. This enables you to blend in to the river bank, should a intruder arrive.
The trip takes about an hour by car (@ 55mph) from Milwaukee, Seattle, Anchorage, Sacramento, Grand Rapids, Oswego, Silver Bay, and Sault Ste Maire. You have to turn east (right or left) on the south lane of the west bound highway. Take the 3rd exit, which is not marked, but distinguished by the refuse from where the semi hauling disposable diapers turned over 3 yrs ago. You take a left or right on the first gravel road. The road is inundated with potholes, so you always fish from the bank, or an inflatable raft. The raft is a hinderence, as you can only be picked up on the ocean, or Great Lakes.
It's a really long river, whose length is very short. The very best drift is the third bend in the river from the put in point. It is very difficult to distinguish, as the river has no bends in it. The hole just above the tailout is very shallow for being 12 feet deep. The second best hole is surrounded by 90 foot sheer cliffs that contain the remnants of those who tried to parachute in to the tail out of the hole. Their broken loomis rods, spinners, drift gear, and shredded waders cover the cliffs as far as the eye can see. The only thing remaining is the crusty smiles on their face, as they saw the "cliff hole". You can hear their spirits laughing as you approach the hole. It is much like a native burial ground.
The fish bite all day long, and hit jigs, yarn, nerf football, spinners, spoons, worms, hot shots, okies, corkies, cheaters, and will not touch bait. The fish can't even tell the difference between a Gammy or a Mustad. This is very convenient, as it is about a 9 mile hike in to the river. The neat thing, is that no one else knows about this, so please don't share this with anyone, as the drones will show up in force. Tight lines, and see ya on your Zipper.

But remember HAWK, my brother saw you fishing the Zipperlip last year (In Alaska). Wasn't that you that fell in? And BTW, he told me that you were fishing the second bend in the river, not the third one. I hope you aren't starting to tell untruthes now, but of course, fishermen never lie! I just might be making that trip this year, but I am kinda afraid of being eaten alive by the Grizz. Should be some time in may? Later.

Hey Duck: It wasn't me that fell out of the boat and got wet chasing a fresh chromer from the ocean. But, given the chance, I would. Will be there April 17-25. I'll leave a couple for you. Doesn't hurt to have a change of dry clothes in a water proof pack, just in case. It's a long way to the take out.

Sorry Duck. Got you mixed up with Steve Ng. He was lining me out, because my buddy did a i½ gainer in a set of waders in 36 degree water out of the drift boat last year. Hard to imagine that a 6'4" guy could almost drown in 2 feet of water. Sorry for the confusion. I am getting a little tingly, as we had 6 inches of fresh snow, and the temp is climbing. Two more weeks, and I'll be prospecting for Iron.
Fish On.
