I had to work today so missed the opener, but stopped by Squalicum Harbor after work
and talked to some fishers coming in and the fish checker. Everybody I talked to limited for thier boat, not big, but between 5-12 lbs. The checker said they had checked 12 boats w/18 fish. That sounds good for an opening here w/ a strong NE wind blowing restricting a lot of fishing areas. Any else hear any good reports?

Talked with a friend thatwas out...via email...Area 13...where I usually fish, since I'm 1 1/2 blocks from the launch...he said ZERO!!! He was fishin' down by Johnson Pt. and Devil's Head! Should have been a lot better at Pt. Defiance for any Tacoma area anglers!

Have fun when you DO get to go out on the saltwater! I love it!!!

Caught a nice 12 pounder today off of Hat Island. Fish checker in Everet only checked 4 fish by 1:00p.m. Good luck to all. Marc

Well, I finally got to go fishing today, I said fishing, not catching. I did have the tip of my rod slap the water 3 times, but came up empty, this seemed to be case for several friends also, although there were a few fish caught inside Obstruction pass area on the tail end of the EBB, I was not one of the lucky ones, but what a great day. More like April/May than February.
Could not find much in the way of bait, which explains why there were not many fish around.

Fishing is tough out there. I fished Hat Island, Elger Bay, Possession Bar and the Bait Box on Saturday and ended up with one small keeper out of the Bait Box. I did not see much bait today except Elger. No fish out of there though. Good luck to all. Marc

Hey guys, same story here at Point No Point, no bait!!!! I live out here on the beach and fish it exclusively and its been real slow. Normally at this time of year we have more fish running around here, go figure. Well once we get some bait things should change. Im thinking when this tide starts to swing a little better on like mon. or tue. Think positive and maybe their might be a springer or two milling around!!
